I’m known for being in the kitchen A LOT, churning out sweet (and occasionally savoury!) treats. I’ve even been called a feeder….but guys….and you know who you are, you don’t have to eat what I make – you come to it knowingly and willingly! I’ve tried my hand at a lot of different cakes and bakes but there’s a whole world of goodies for me to have a go at yet! I love Mary Berry and Hummingbird recipes for cakes and brownies and such like. More recently thoguh I've been using sugar in a number of new ways, namely in making marshmallows! Not just your bog standard white and fluffies though, I'm all about the gourmet marshmallows! You'll see what I mean by up and coming posts!
Now, I do have a small confession...my achilles heel....the beautiful and indulgent French Macaron. I am unfortunately one of those poor would-be pastry chefs still yet to master the perfect French Macaroon (or Macaron). It’s certainly not from a lack of trying or testing different techniques – I just haven’t found the way to make them work for me yet. I'm getting closer, the come out with lovely smooth tops and pretty feet - but I've not quite got the texture right just yet. Admittedly they are a far cry away the browned cracked disasters I started with but I have become pretty obsessed with achieving macaroon perfection and there will be guaranteed posts as soon as I do!
Well with introductions and confessions done with – I’d best get baking!
